Viking wrestlers should strive to be the best they can be: on the
mat AND IN THE CLASSROOM. Knowing that time is short, after three
years in high school our athletes should be ready for the competition
out in the world!

NEW
FOR INCOMING SOPHOMORES
(Class of 2008) |
 In
addition to earning a minimum of 19 academic credits,
these students must complete a culminating project that
integrates their experiences and knowledge, craft an
education plan for high school and the year after, and
earn a Certificate of Academic Achievement or CAA (formerly
the Certificate of Mastery) by passing the 10th-grade
WASL exam in reading, writing and math. These are the
minimum state requirements enacted into state law in
1993 under House Bill 1209.
In 2000, the State Board of Education determined that
the new requirements would begin with the class of 2008,
the first class educated from kindergarten through grade
12 with the state’s higher learning standards
in reading, writing and mathematics. From
